Whilst St Francis School is closed, the following resources can be used. The Year Group resources will be updated throughout the closure period and will cover the range of curriculum subjects and topics that your child would be learning if they were in school. All children have been given a project book and this can be used to record any work undertaken at home. There is an expectation that pupils will be engaged in learning whilst not at school and are well enough.
Here’s our HOME LEARNING LETTER with guidance, expectations and ideas to support learning at home.
Have a routine
It might help to have a routine at home as this will help to ensure that children know when it’s time for learning and when it’s free-time. To help you, we’ve set out below an example ‘timetable’ for a possible day of home learning based on what a typical day looks like here at school.
|0900 – 0930||0930 – 1030||1030 – 1100||1100 – 1200||1200 – 1300||1300 – 1500||1500|

We have created help and guide sheets for the teaching of what we call ‘Key Skills’. These are spellings, handwriting, reading, times tables and number bonds. Click on these links for explanations and lots of ideas for how to keep the practise of these key skills interesting and fun. These are the core parts of learning and we would be so grateful if these areas could be done at home for half an hour a day. Prioritise these aspects of learning as they are the building blocks for everything else.
As always, any questions you have or examples of this for sharing, please email to learningathome@st-francis.
